EuroCup 2025 Resources: Group Stages 30th January - 2nd February
Finding what you need to watch and follow the games you care about should be easy. We're here to make that the case, assuming you can make it past a rambling intro.
There’s a sentiment I find myself expressing, with monotonous regularity, to my 2-year-old daughter. I don’t have set-in-stone wording for it, but it’s generally something to the effect of “there are too many difficult things in the world already for us to make any of the easy things more difficult”. I occasionally wonder if I’m quietly a leading philosopher but, whenever I think maybe I invented this concept, I convince myself fairly quickly that someone probably said it earlier and more succinctly than I did. I realise that this would be the perfect time to Google it but then, if it did predate me, I’d have to think of a different intro for this post, and what did I (and likely someone else) say about making things more difficult than they needed to be?
Most of the times that I wearily recite this one-line guide to a better quality of life, the little one looks at me blankly. The most recent instance of trying to get her listen to reason was based around her insistence that she required a fork, as opposed a spoon, to eat her cereal and milk.
Me: “Delilah, eating cereal with a spoon is easy. Remember how there are lots of difficult things in the world, so we should try and keep the easy things easy?”
Delilah: “Little fork?”
The reason I bring this up is because the 2025 edition of the EuroCup is upon us. Anyone who listens to Bench Units knows that I love EuroCup more than any other event in the basketball calendar. Me and James like to think that we’re as close to professional wheelchair basketball viewers as is possible, and especially if it’s possible without making us sound like dorks.
And yet, despite us having learned the tricks, we find ourselves scrabbling to keep up, sending each other wrong links to streams and stats, forgetting about local timezones and tuning into games an hour late, and screaming “Why is keeping up with this stuff so difficult?! Shouldn’t it be easier than this?!” while our wives text each other about how they missed these red flags for so long before they ultimately got stuck with us.
And so, in the spirit of keeping the easy stuff easy, here’s everything you need to be able to keep up with the opening weekend of EuroCup 2025.
